Sleeping alone

I understand that babies go through a fourth trimester where they like to be held all the time and sleep on you. I'm really trying to be patient and understanding of this, but part of me wonders if I let my baby sleep on me during this phase, when will she sleep on her own in her bed/cradle/bassinet? My baby is only 4 days old, just wondering if I'm doing it wrong.
