Barbeque Baby Shower Date

I never got to do a baby shower with my first (preemie), so I wanted to make sure to do something for my second, assuming i'll make it to term this time. :P

I am due December 14, so I want to plan my party for late October, and i've chosen October 30. I wanted to do a co-ed BBQ (or Baby-Q), but I feel like barbeques are kind of summery, and even though I live in Nevada and it should be warm, I feel like October 30 is awful late in the year for a barbeque. Am I right, or wrong? Is October 30 too late in the year for a barbeque, weather permitting?

Does anybody have any fall/winter suggestions for a co-ed baby shower?
