He hit me like I was another man

My "boyfriend" supposedly went on an end of summer trip with his family like every other year. He invited me but he knew that I was having money trouble and couldn't afford a plane ticket. We didn't speak the entire weekend which was strange because I was calling and texting him. I'm not friends with his family on social media so I got extremely nervous that something bad had happened. I drove by his home and saw that he was home. I knocked on the door and this girl who has been a problem in our relationship for the entire 3 years we've been in a relationship opened the door. I could have fainted. She invited me in and we talked until he came out of the bathroom. he looked like he saw a ghost. The girl and I sat there and talked and exchange information while he was standing there. He told her that I was just a girl that he was using to get stuff from. He was telling me that she was his connect. He started to talk shit about my child and that's when I went crazy. I ran up on him and he pushed me down and punched me in the face multiple times. I was finally able to get out of the house a bloody mess, I ran to my car and drove down the street to call the police. I saw him speeding by the gas station that I stopped at. When the police came, I gave them his information. He still has the key to my place, me and my child didn't sleep at home last night though. I'm getting my locks changed this morning but I'm still extremely scared at this point because I called the police on him and he's already on probation. I'm scared he will retaliate. What should I do?

Update: I didn't run up on him to attack him I just got in his face to talk shit. He's a foot taller and about 100 lbs bigger. We have gotten into heated arguments before but this is the first time he even pushed me. I didn't think he would have gotten on top of me and actually punch me in my face multiple times.
