newbie breast feeding question?!

I know this is going to sound a little stupid but I am actually really curious and trying to have the most knowledge about breast feeding that I can lol. So, why do some people feed baby on breast compared to pumping and feeding with a bottle? Is it just an over time thing? Is it a latching thing? Is it just more so preferred and if so why?! Please inform me on the two so I understand a little better thank you 😅

Right now my son is drinking straight from the boob, but I'm pumping and storing milk for when I go back to work or if my SO and I need time away...that way my baby can still have breastmilk. I also like to bring a bottle when we're out and about because I'm not comfortable breastfeeding in public. I have large breasts so it's hard to be discreet when I'm trying to make sure I don't smother my child with my boob lol

I am planning to pump and feed with a bottle bc I only get 6-8 weeks off of work and i want my husband to be able to help also. If i want him to take night feedings so I can rest then we will be able too with bottles. That's my plan..nvr had a baby before so we will see how strong i can be to not use formula but deff will if i need to!

I plan to do both, for convenience and bonding on the breast and it's coming out super fresh haha but also pumping via bottle so that my husband can feed and bond with baby too. I'm hoping it'll work out but I've read that they get used to one or the other and reject other methods so I will just have to play it by ear and see how it all works out!

For me, it was a latching issue. My daughter was jaundiced and so sleepy she wouldn't latch on so I pumped and used a bottle.

I was a nanny for 6 years and usually it was because they had to work. So they would pump a lot and leave bottles for me to feed the baby.

I think there could be many different answers. I've never used a bottle, it was just easier to stick the baby on the boob than to have to pump and feed. My sis-in-law pumped exclusively with her first for a year because she couldn't get a good latch and it was just too stressful to keep trying.

I plan to strictly nurse from the boob for the first month to get a strong latch and then after a month start pumping part time to build a supply for hubby to have the option of feeding or so a baby sitter can feed baby and such. Give me slightly more freedom and allows other people to bond with baby as well.
