baby sleep advice

Lindsay
My son who used to sleep through the night (about 7 hours) is now getting up every 2 hours or so. I put him to sleep on his back with his pacifier and he usually rolls onto his tummy shortly after I put him down. It seems that when he wakes up and is on his tummy without his pacifier in anymore he gets frustrated and wakes up and cries until I come and give him his pacifier again. I know he's not hungry and our dr. Actually recommended we not feed him in the middle of the night anymore as he's growing great and in the 97th percentile for weight. Should I try to get rid of the pacifier? I feel like he's becoming dependent on it and I would love some longer stretches of sleep. 😴😴😴
