First week at secondary school and my girl lands up at the police station!!
My 11yr old girl started secondary school this week. She has to get a bus and a ten minute walk. She meets her friend off the bus to walk to school. She texts me to let me know shes got to school safe. This morning i receive no text. Her friend rings me saying shes not turnt up at the bus stop and no ones seen her. Her friend is beside herself crying so i manage to calm her down and tell her to go straight to school she must have missed the bus today. Ring the school shes failed to turn up for morning registration. Rang around hospitals And they had not admitted her or had her awaiting to be seen. Due to her not turning up and me not knowing where she was and it being totally out of character it was decided police were to be imediately imformed. Im 23weeks 4days pregnant and vomiting with worry. I await the police to come to my house they were here in five minutes. Took details and told me to stay home incase she turns up here in the mean time all units will be deployed to look for her. Due to my girl having medical conditions it was decided all units to be deployed imediately to look for her. Hour goes by and im absolutely beside myself automatically thinking the worse. Then to my relief i got a call to say she was at the police station safe and well. The normol bus didnt turn up this morning and a bus came along saying 'school bus' on it so she gets on this bus thinking it was going to her school. When it went a different route she thought it was going the long way around to pick up other children so decided to stay put after all it stated school bus so will take her to school. At the last stop she was told to get off the bus and then realised it wasnt going to her school. The bus driver said no it wasnt going there. She said the bus driver stated in bad english he didn't know how to help her and told her the bus didn't run on the other side now it was past the time it had finished. She saw the bus behind pull in stating it was going to town and new there was a police station there to get help. I've always told her go to the police station in emergency needs if lost or needing help. So off she went to the police station. Thank god she had the brains to do this or god knows where she would have landed up this morning. Panick over and after being brought home by police and calmed down she is now in school after i took her there. Now have hospital appointment to see if my blood pressures come down erm think not lool. Thank god shes safe and well im just happy shes ok and this was a happy ending not a news flash. Please advise children about busses carefully i never thought to as i had no idea this bus school bus run. Transport are now re-addressing the bus sign to state which schools it goes to and all drivers are requested to ask children when they get on what school they are going to.
