When was your first ultrasound ?

This is my first pregnancy and even though I'm a RN, I do critical care, not OB... So I have a LOT of questions. My current MD recently retired from delivering babies so he was only able to see me during my first appointment and from here on out I am going to one of the nurse midwives from our hospital. At my initial appointment my MD said they typically only do one ultrasound usually around 20 weeks because Blue Cross Blue Shield only covers one the entire pregnancy. I am 8 weeks and at my next appointment with the CNM in October I will be 12 weeks and will then find out when I'll get my first US. I keep seeing all these ladies who have already has an ultrasound and I know some of the other nurses on my floor have had them much earlier than 20 weeks. When have you ladies gotten your first US either this pregnancy or in previous? Thanks
