hospital gown....

So... my brothers girl friend delivered her baby wearing the hospital gown and literally stayed wearing a hospital gown her whole stay. Which was 3 days. I've read that women have worn their own gowns for delivery and then brought clothes to wear. Does anyone recommend doing this for more comfortability? I see all the pictures of them in the hospital and she's wearing that gown in all of them with messy hair. Maybe I'm being judgemental and she just didn't care but I want to look nice when visitors come and take pictures of me and my little one! Did anyone else bring clothes or feel the same way? Ftm's what are you planning on doing?
