is providing finger foods/appetizers enough for baby shower?

That's what my mother in law is planning. I've only been to one baby shower, and the family was verrrrrrry wealthy and provided a very gourmet lunch for the shower. Just wondering if the fact that only finger foods will be provided at mine will be enough.
