Australians: only full-block, full-numb epidurals are allowed here
I learnt this week there are no lighter doses eg the walking epidural - it's all or nothing. But a full epidural increases the likelihood of episiotomies, tearing, forceps use etc because you have less feeling & control over your contractions & pushing, so they may have to pull baby out. It also means you have to lay on your back, not work with gravity helping birth in other positions.
Im not thrilled with the options right now!
