Help. Newborn question

My son is 17 days old and constipated. Does anyone have any safe advice on what to do to help him before we can go to the dr. He strains, and screams when hes trying to go. Then stops crying. One BMa day for the last 3 days and its been hard little pebbles like one per diaper. I feel so bad for him. Idk what to do.
