Ex of 7 years..

So my ex of 7 years texted me 2 years ago. I held a grudge against him for the way our relationship ended and I lashed out and ended up not texting him back. Now I feel l need to apologize to him for the way I acted. I don't know if I should or just let it be. What y'all think?
