joint pain anyone ?

Hi I think I have injured my knee and it is painful, Doctor said there was any oral med I can take but some friends suggested to take the gulcosamine , anyone in the same boat how do you deal with those joint pain? Sometimes it can be due to weight gain, I think I did too many classes in a weeks.
