So my mom is planning my baby shower and I have a huge family and so does my SO. So does she invite all of his family also or does his mom do a shower for me? My parents don't have huge house and we are inviting his mother and sister but as for his aunts is it rude not to? We don't have the space and not sure the rules for this kind of thing.

I think if you can't invite all of his family then maybe your mom should throw one for your family and his mom should throw one for his family..you wouldn't want someone to find out they weren't invited and get all offended.

If you are really worried, you could do two in one day. Invite one side of the family in the morning and the other side in the afternoon. Just get two cakes or whatever you were planning to do. Unless you have a relationship with you MIL where you could ask her to host one for her side of the family, then you can't expect it. Having big family means lots of gifts. I know it is about more than that, but the gifts really do help!!

It might be rude to them. Some people take offense.  If your not sure how they would react, Why don't you consider moving the location to accomodate all, unless someone from his side offers to give a second one which u really can't expect.

My MIL asked if I wanted to have two, one for my side and one for my husband's, but I said I just wanted one big one. Seems normal/ok to have two showers. So maybe you could have two, one for his side and one for yours!
