Sex after period

Sorry if this is TMI. 😣 So my boyfriend and had sex on the day my period ended, and i hadnt been bleeding that day much at all. But i went to the bathroom afterwards and noticed i was heavily bleeding again. Has anyone else experienced this? And is this normal?
