should she have called the cops?
IM SO PISSED 😡 My friend & I went running last night until about midnight (keep in mind too that I live in a very family friendly town that is very safe). After we run, I decided to smoke some pot while we sat on the front porch & talked. While we were doing this there was this shirtless guy near her car. He was just knelt down in front of it & from what I saw he didn't touch it at all. She doesn't even recall him touching it. She yelled at him asking what he was doing & he just told her he wasn't doing anything & started walking the opposite direction. She then threatened to call the cops so he put his hands up saying he didn't have anything & slowly backed off. After she yelled at him to "YOU BETTER FUCKING LEAVE OR ILL CALL THE FUCKING COPS. YOU BETTER RUN YOU LITTLE BITCH!" He ran away & then we heard these popping noises. The noises was NOT a gun. She then rushed inside to call the cops. I was pissed because I had just been smoking out there & was afraid that they'd smell it (I was smoking out of a bong so it wouldn't be as smelly as a joint or blunt I guess). Luckily they drive around the house & neighborhood before stopping so it didn't matter but I was so scared before they came. My heart was pounding. I told her it was a bad idea to call them & she went on about how he tried breaking into her car, when neither of us even saw him touch it. When the cop arrived & she told him what happened he even said the guy was probably just drunk & confused & because there really wasn't enough proof he was trying to do anything, IF they did catch him they probably wouldn't have been able to do anything.
The next day when I asked her about the logic she was using she told me that I was "too high to understand" which I was not. I was perfectly aware of what was going on at the time & thought she was overreacting. She refuses to be outside now after sunset even if I'm there because she's too "sketched out" which sucks because it's a nice town to walk around late at night. My mom is like one of the most cautious people I know & she even thought that calling the cops was a bit much when I explained what had happened exactly to her.
