Fellow LDR peoples, I need your help!

I am planning to work through my SO's friends to arrange a small gift surprise for the love of my life. Problem is, I don't know what to give him as a gift, since his friend is going to buy the item (whatever it may be) for me. He and his friend are in the same city and university, thus it would be easier for me than using other mail systems. I really want to cheer my beloved up. What gift Item would you send your SO?
