Depends. 
I usually only wear black, white and gray. But my baby shower theme was like.. Garden tea party and was all pastel pink and mint so I didn't want to wear all black and make it look weird. 
I actually ended up wearing all white though.

I wore a black and white dress when I had a shower with my first. I just dressed it up with some pink accessories.

I don't think it's depressing at all.
