Fetishism.
I have been rubbed so wrong tonight. I was scrolling through Facebook and this girl shared this picture of a cute little girl who was obviously biracial. And she's adds her comment or "I'm definitely having a mixed baby" and I was so disgusted. I'm so sick of seeing this fetishizing of mixed babies and Black men. Yes, biracial children are absolutely adorable. And my partner is a Black man. But to only see them as that? It's so fucked up on so many levels.
When I see my partner, I see a strong, intelligent, passionate, caring, respectful and honest man. I see him as so much more than just a black man. And it's so unreal and disgusting how many people see my relationship and automatically think "oh you will have such cute babies" or "are the stereotypes true?"
Like, you don't need to worry about my future kids. Or the sex life between me and my partner. You aren't doing this to anyone else in the world, so why me?
