Question for all the girls: Do you mind when an old guy calls you Sweetie, Honey or Love?

Depends on the guy and the location. My grandpa I could care less. Some random old man at the golf course I don't like it. I don't like it for a number of reasons, I find it demeaning more than creepy.

It depends. There are genuine older gentleman who grew up in an era of pure chivalry. As a young female working in an Aerospace Engineering building, many of the factory workers are from that era. And when I am on the floor trying to get projects done, they will call me sweetie, Dame, sweetheart, etc. And I don't mind it, because they are genuine and they respect my intelligence and teach me about the machines and will even put their other work aside to help me get mine done first.

It's when I'm out on the street and a sweetie gets followed up with a whistle or catcall or something sexual and demeaning, that's when I can't stand it.

Sweetie and Honey give me the creeps for some reason. I'm cool with Love as long as it's not said in a condescending way. I prefer to be called by my first name in all honesty.

Not really. I tend to call people any of those names because I'm used to talking to my sisters. They're both younger (one is now 15 the other is about to be 2) so when I'm talking to others, even new people it sometimes slips out. I usually apologize, but it's habit to use those terms since I use them so often.
