Paragard IUD?

Question

I had an prenatal appointment today and we talked about a long term contraceptive that did not mess with my hormones or cycle. It is a copper iud.
Anyone have experience with this that would like to share? I don't want more kids right now and it's either this or get my tubes tied and go through major surgery to have more kids later.

I had the merena for 5 years (took it out in March so we could ttc) 
I loved it! It was cramps for the first month(they're all gunna be) but after that I never had a single issue with it!
My gf thought she'd gotten the same, but she got the plastic one with a copper wrap(not sure on the name) and she had the worst cramps, periods, and migraines like no ones business. The doctor said it was from copper poisoning, which was one of the main reasons I didn't get a copper one in the first place. Copper poisoning is no joke...look it up before you consider getting one.
The merena took away my periods for 3 years and the last 2 years I had the most mild period (mostly spotting for a day or 2) it never affected my mood, the hormone in it is just progesterone, if anything I felt like it evened me out, especially compared to what the pill did to my body

I tried Mirena first and it made me depressed and miserable, like the pill has in the past. So I switched it out for Paraguard, which made my periods heavier and gave me uncomfortable cramps during the first few days of my period, but i was grateful not to hate myself anymore, so I kept Paraguard happily until we started TTC.

I had it for five years and had no complaints. Definitely get this over having your tubes tied and then reversed... Sounds like a lot!

I had a paragard for a little under a year.  It was great until I started having extremely painful cramps during my cycle and had to have it removed.  But my experience is on the rare side,  I think.

I want the IUD after birth. I don't want to try for another baby for at least two years and I can't bear the thought of taking birth control pills everyday again...😁

I had this and the plastic one I bled heavily during period with the copper I preferred the plastic I will get it again after baby I had no weight gain no acne and no problems!
