Do you HAVE to take birth control after baby is born?

I've taken three different pills, the shot, and Nuvaring and I've hated them all for different reasons. So for the better part of 4 years of me not being on any, I didn't get pregnant. (Yeah probably just luck) and it ended up taking us almost a year to get pregnant trying.

I know they really push you to be on some birth control but neither me nor my husband think it's right for us for multiple reasons. I know the risks of becoming pregnant again too soon, but we personally have decided against the hormonal choices. So do you really have to be on it? Does anyone any experience with turning it down?

But chances of becoming pregnant again are higher so make sure he wraps up his 🍆

I won't be using BC either. We just agreed to do other things until we are ready to get pregnant again

There is always the 'mini pill' that I think only had the progesterone and not the oestrogen- so not so high on hormones. That is what I took and thought it was very good- no side effects

You don't have to be on it. Its your choice. Me personally, I'm getting another mirena iud bc I don't want another baby for a while, may be my last lol.

That is the real danger with this method, you need 100% self control and vigilance  from both parties for it to work. Only commit to it as your main method if you can commit! Make sure your partner understands his job, too.

Nope you don't have to. I didn't after my first. Got pregnant again 8 months after he was born but we are ok with that. Not sure why we are doing after this one because my body hates the pill and I don't want an IUD.
