Anyone have a c section recently?

Im having c sec this friday,  ftm and i have no idea what to expect...  Does it hurt,  what happens after baby is born,  how soon can u walk.. Any info will help... Pics too!!!!

I had a csection last Friday. You will go to the hospital early, get prepped, meaning they put in an IV, ask you a million questions, monitor baby, shave ur pubic hair, etc. Then you will be wheeled into the Operating room, where you will sit on the table and they will put a spinal in your back which is a needle but they numb the area first so it just feels like pressure in your lower back. Then your whole bottom half from your chest down will slowly get numb. They will pick up your legs put them on the table and put a catheter in. Then the surgeon or your OB will come in, ask if you feel anything and then begin the surgery. You really don't feel much except a lot of pressure and pulling. Within 5 minutes you will hear your baby cry and they will hold him or her over the sheet. Then they sew you up and it's done within 10 minutes. I went into the OR at 7:30am and she was born at 7:58am. You are wheeled into a recovery room and your baby goes to the nursery with your husband. They monitor you there for 2-4 hours. Then you are wheeled into your room where your baby meets you. They will try to get you out of bed about 6-8 hours after you get to your room and walking shortly after that. Hold onto a pillow if you have to cough, laugh or cry, it'll hurt the incision. Take your pain meds as long as you need to and take it easy for at least a week! Lots of luck!

I had a c-section 4 months ago and I wasn't fully numb when my doctor cut but otherwise it wouldn't have hurt just a little pressure. Normally the baby gets cleaned up and if everything goes well they bring the baby to see you while they finish stitching you up and everything. I was in pain for 4-5 days after but not much I was able to refuse all pain meds and I walked 2-3 hours after my c-section as soon as they let me walk.
