Foster to adopt. Confused with questions! Help!
Hi everyone. I am hoping there is someone out there who can shed some light on the current situation we are in, in our journey thought "fostering to adopt"
My husband and I decided to take a family members child who was placed into foster care. Today we had our "one year" hearing and the goal was changed from reunification to adoption. Hallelujah. The bio parents haven't complied with ANY of their case plan.
My question now is, what happens next? I know they will move forward with TPR, but what is that process really like?? Our next court day was set for 6 months from now. That seems like such a long time. Obviously we are very new to this, and really have no idea what's to come or what to expect. Could these parents really regain their child?? I pray not. Any help, opinions, advice, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
