Convincing my mom to get the pill

Because my cycle being pretty irregular, my heavy flood and my bad cramps and backpain (+ also headaches sometimes) during my period AND my acne I would like to go on the pill, but my mom doesn't find it a good idea because she thinks it's not needed to already have this 'crap' in my body on my age (I'm 16 by the way). How can I convince her?

Have a consultation with your doctor about the best way to deal with your periods. Bring your mom with you into the room so she can hear it too. They may want to try a few other options before getting you on birth control, or they may not it just depends on the doctor. But if they do prescribe BC your mom will be more likely to be okay with it if she hears it from a doctor. Sometimes people need to hear it from doctors to really believe it. And if she still isn't okay with it, it's still ultimately your choice and she will have to come to terms with it.

First of all, it's not "crap" it's...hormones. That are already inside of your body. My mom is weird with medications too. I've managed to convince her by having my doctor talk to her about it, the health benefits, etc. Sometimes having a professional opinion is enough to convince them. If not, if theres a way to get them without her permission you can try that. Keep them in your purse or hidden with you at all times so she doesn't find out.

I know it are hormones, but that's what my mom calls it... If she finds out I'm on the pill she'll freak out :/

While it is hormones, they are artificially made using chemicals. So in a way her mom isn't completely wrong. But I do agree with having her mom go with her to the doctor to talk about it. Sometimes people just need to hear a doctor say it in order to believe it.

Some states you can get it without your parents knowing... check your local health department.

Yes, where I live you can get it without the permission of your parents, but if my mom gets to know it she will freak out and I don't think that will be the best day of my life lol
