Rafiki's Story
Rafiki was my cat. She was everything a cat needed to be and more. She had the biggest personality yet she was so small, and honestly I didn't want her at first. Her mother was my main cat before rafiki ever came to exist. Lulu was a Grey and white cat with beautiful light green eyes. And she was the love of my life, she made me laugh constantly with her goofy ways. She was a hunter of course always practicing her ninja moves for the outside world. But she was a small cat so when she got pregnant of course I assumed only a couple kittens and she ended up having only 4 kittens. Mr. Meow, Smokey, Midnight, and Rafiki (who was "shadow" at the time of birth and we later changed her name when we decided to keep her). Rafiki was the biggest of all her siblings. And the most annoying constantly crying in the middle of the night. Ughh it was hell for awhile then some personal stuff started to happen with me and I decided to live in Texas for awhile until my grandma's wedding of course, which was on August, 1, 2015. Also known as my birthday to only me apparently. But I'm not getting into that rn, other time though. So I left around May 28th I believe and I stayed down there till July 27th we drove back over here I live in Iowa so that was about a two day drive home. Uncomfortable. Is probably the only way to describe the journey back. But as soon as I got home I said hi to all my pets. I had 3 dogs and 1 other cat. Not seeing lulu or her babies I had already assumed my mother gave them aways which was expected. But I assumed lulu was outside with buttercup (our other cat she's a normal calico cat) and just went on with my day messaged all my friends that I was back went to go see some of them smoked with them it was a really good day. Then by night time buttercup had come home but lulu was still nowhere in sight so that's when I saw her. Rafiki was a little more grown up but it was her sitting on my couch in my house. I saw my mom coming down stairs I asked her, "Why is shadow still here? Did you keep any of the others? Have you seen Lulu? She's been gone all day." My mother took a moment and just looked at me for a minute before she told me to sit down. I started getting a little nervous after that. I said what happened? And she told me my Lulu had died while I was gone and they decided to keep rafiki in her place for when I got home. Of course I cried like, that was my cat. I loved her. And rafiki was not my first option I had told them time and time again that if we were to keep one I wanted smokey. He was an elegant white cat with blue eyes and a light Grey tail with light Grey ears and super fluffy. But no, they kept Rafiki. I went over to the little kitten only 2 months old. And just looked at her. Wtf was this. I wanted lulu how could they think keeping this would replace her. But I sat down with the little thing and I petted her as she purred. After that Rafiki decided that she liked me and followed me around the house constantly I guess I didn't mind so much seeing as she was so small and quiet it was like she wasn't even there sometimes. But she was. She would watch me sometimes I think just to study me. And as another month or two went by I notice rafiki wasn't really growing that much but she ate alll the timeee just like her mother I guess. But she was little I thought it was pretty cute. And I grew more and more fond of the little creature that was lulu's daughter. And once I did I think she noticed I liked her back because she started acting more and more strange like playing by herself pouncing on my hand outta no where from time to time. And it was like she started being herself. And she was funny and weird and I loved her for it. She was everything I loved about Lulu and she was more than that too. She was rafiki my tiny ninja. Well I know this story is long but I had to tell someone even if just one person reads this. These two cats were so special. So the cats in the picture were all in this story. Lulu is the Grey and white cat.
Mr. Meow is the white and black one who's more white than black.
Midnight is the black and white one who's more black than white.
Smokey is the white kitten.
And rafiki is the brown and black and orange one.
Buttercup is the Calico.
