Rushed to the OR
I was 40 weeks and 3 days when they induced me on a Thursday afternoon at 6. I don't do pain very well so my contractions were very painful for me. I got an epidural (plus some pain medicine before that) at about a 3. 12 o clock am Saturday morning I started pushing. I was weak, I was tired, I had been throwing up all that day and while I was trying to push. My body has enough. My baby's heart rate started to decrease so they had to put me on oxygen because my baby started to not be able to breathe. I, myself, was having trouble breathing I was in so much pain. The epidural had worn off when I was about a 8 so I had no choice but to do it all natural. After an hour and a half of pushing, by this time it's 1:30 am, she never moved down at all. It's like she was stuck. I finally told the mid-wife I couldn't do it anymore. My body had given up, I felt sick to my stomach, and I was having trouble breathing. She had a look on her face while i was pushing at the very end that this baby wasn't coming. They called the doctor in there to check me and see if she thought any differently. She checked me for a second and told them to book an OR because this baby wasn't coming. Now the way my pelvis is shaped, it's indented at the top so it's not perfectly circular like it should be. That's the reason why she wasn't moving down at all. They also think It may have been the way she was positioned. They finally take me to the back to have a C-section. After all the pain and suffering of labor and then still ending up with a C-section, I was blessed with a beautiful 7 Ib 9 oz 20 1\2 inch long baby girl. Brooklyn Elizabeth Carroll 💕 It was a hard and painful experience but I wouldn't change a thing because it gave me the best thing I could ever imagine. My little girl will be a month old on Tuesday 😍
