When does your ob start checking your cervix?

And how do they do it? Not a ftm over here bit I litterally can't remember anything from my last pregnancy except bits and pieces. Some say it hurts so I'm guessing it's not just looking at it? When do they check for dialation? I have an appt on Tuesday and I'll be 29 weeks.

Never before 37-38 weeks. 
My midwive said not till 38 weeks if I make it that far. 
IV never found it hurt not uncomfortable at all. 
This pregnacy I said am ok notminowing because baby comes when he ready. You can sit at a few cm for weeks on end so I figure why bother knowing.

My OB said at or after I hit 36weeks they start checking, but I didn't think to ask how. I figured they would just feel for it, but I'm FTM so I don't know.

Mine started doing it at 16 weeks! I guess in France they start earlier.

I read it can increase risk for infection so many are opting out if not necessary...and it seems it's not very necessary..baby comes when ready

About 34 35 weeks but I'm 2 weeks ahead on growth so he is wanting to keep a close eye so it could be just that

Oh and it's just an internal exam they do by feel that allows them to give an estimate.

I think it's normally like 36ish. I had a LEEP two years ago. I'm super paranoid about it, so my OB has started checking.

Yeah, mine start at 35 weeks and just stick their fingers up there to feel whether or not your cervix feels open. It's not the most pleasant thing in the world, no.
