Wash Baby Carrier?

Did you ladies wash your ergo baby or other baby carriers before using them?  I was thinking that maybe I should just wash the infant insert...?

And remember most buckles carries are not recommended to dry in the dryer as it can compromise the integrity of the buckles.

You can wash them in a pillow case with all the buckles buckled. 
I've washed most of mine. If bought brand new I don't wash right away. If bought used I wash before using.
The detergent recommended to wash is ECOS for most carries. I've used tide though but a very very small amount.
