Advice Wanted

I'm 23 and my period has always been regular, so I haven't had a need to be on birth control. I am looking at getting on birth control, just as a precaution since I have started seeing a guy pretty regularly now. So my question is what type of birth control should I get and where should I go to get it? I'm in college with a part-time job and no insurance so I don't know how to go about this whole process.  Just let me know what y'all think, any advice is welcome.
