Is there a difference when you induce?

So I was induced with my first child at 39 weeks. It was a HORRIBLE experience (extremely long labor, back to back contractions, lots of nausea, etc) and I swore I'd never do that again. 
Now I'm 40+4 and my midwife said she would want to induce at 42, or even 41 if that's what I wanted. 
My question: does getting induced after your due date make it better? 
Anyone have experience with this?

Induction can make labor harder in general. It's always best to wait it out and let your body go into labor naturally unless it's medically necessary to get induced. I know it really sucks to wait but it's worth it!

I don't think it makes things any easier once you go past your dd unless you're already dialating and effaced. My friend was induced twice at 41 weeks with both her kids and she had very long hard labors. My sister was induced at 37+4 and had a great labor and delivery. It just depends on how ready your body and baby are, everybody responds differently to induction.
