Red spots on husbands ankle. Randomly showed up after he helped his friend clear off some trees on his camping land. They look even worse in person and it's freaking me out. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

I have heard that putting clear fingernail polish on them will smother the chiggers. Not sure if that works.

That awfully looks like chigger bites. When a few fellow biologist and i went on the field to collect some grass specimens i got a few bites like that idk why but i honestly belive its chiggers. You NEED to wash whatever he was wearing in super hot water and dry it in high heat and he needs to take a hot shower and scrub and scrub and cut his finger nails make sure he doesn't scratch, take a benadryl and put some hydrocortisone.

I would say chiggers but they usually get further north than just ankles (They love crotches) but it's possible to get them anywhere. Honestly fleas love ankles/limbs more than chiggers seem to.

Those are chigger bites. Not much you can do but take a cool shower, use calamine lotion and take Benadryl for the itching

Poison ivy. Stock up on the calamine and put an oatmeal paste or baking soda paste on it.
