How do I convince my mum to let me go on birth control?

I've recently started college and with stress and everything being new my periods have gotten super irregular (which just adds to the stress). My parents are super conservative and they'll assume things so I don't know what to say to them to let them know that this might be necessary.

If your n college, I assume your an adult. You don't need parental permission to see a dr.

I would just be honest about how your periods are. If they're irregular, you should tell your mom and not bring up birth control at all. Tell her EVERY problem you're having with your period and seem really concerned about it. The pill is used to fix that and hopefully she will come to this conclusion for herself and won't think you're trying to suggest it on your own?

I have conservative parents also and i just had to explain that i couldn't cope with irregular periods at the time. Then they came around and said well you are old enough. 
Just explain why you need it and they should understand about. Even though it's called BIRTH CONTROL it doesn't just serve that one purpose of safer sex. It's to do with cycles too !! (as you know) but just tell them how you feel !

You can go to a doctor yourself when your 16. So if you're in college and have health care, you're set.
