1st u/s at 6 weeks
Hubby and I are pregnant with our second baby, and we went for our first ultrasound on Monday. When we had our first baby, our first u/s was at 5 weeks and 3 days. At that u/s, we were told it was unlikely to see much of anything, but we were lucky that we actually got to see the heartbeat(hb), and the teeny tiny fetus. At this u/s, I was 6 weeks and 2 days. From everything that I've read, a hb should be visible by that time. We didn't see a hb, and the fetus was so small, it was immeasurable. The u/s tech also noted the presence of something...she called it some kind of bleed, I want to say it was an rc or rf bleed. She said it happens when the embryo is burrowing into the uterine lining, and I'd get another u/s in 2 weeks to recheck it. No one seemed concerned, but I've been driving myself crazy! I had the early u/s to make sure the pregnancy is viable before starting lovenox for a clotting disorders and they prescribed it, and no one seemed concerned about any of it, but the lack of hb and small size concerns me. Also, the bleed, or clot, which I can't seem to find anything about online...has anyone had experience like this and gone on the have a viable pregnancy? Any positivity or prayers would be so appreciated also!! Thanks in advance!!
