My doctor said since I'm gunna breastfeed I could do the iud or condoms I hate condoms they always give me a really bad infection and I read horror stories about the iud I guess I need to know if the pros of the iud out wieghs the cons cuz I can't take the mini pill cuz I tried that before and it didn't work out

Is Implanon/Nexplanon an option? It's non-hormonal and my doctor has said it wouldn't affect breastfeeding. I plan to use condoms at first (luckily they work alright for me... I'm sure my husband won't be thrilled lol) then eventually back on the implant!

Are you sure it's an infection and not an allergy? I've had at least 3 friends think condoms gave them an infection but I (and my sensitive skin, multiple allergy having self) said that sounds like an allergy... recommended a change of condoms and they've been doing much better.

I had an IUD before ttc but I did not have the Mirena. Mine was the paraguard the non hormone one. It last for 10 years. Only complaint I had was my Cylces were a lot heavier

I understand the condoms as I'm allergic to latex so can't use most condoms. You can get the implant in your arm while breast feeding that's what I plan to get (had it before we started ttc) and a good friend of mine has it after having a bad experience with the mirena a month after getting it inserted at her 6week pp appt.
