Special k shot?

If you vote please, please explain to me why you are or are not choosing to do or not do the shot. Risks/rewards anything I'm having such a hard time deciding.

Were giving our baby what doctors suggest. Im a naturalist and love natural meds and all however im not a crazy person who makes up reasons not to give my baby certain things that benefit her. I believe in medicine weather it be natural or not. There is a place for both always.

I read a lot about this subject, however I couldn't really find proof of a negative effect. My instincts would say no because it just feels really unnatural to inject a newborn with the crazy amount of artificial  vitamin K. But my partner wouldn't Agree to it so we decided to go for the oral drops. I made my partner take them too, hehehe apparently they taste awful.

Vitamin K comes in naturally on the 8th day after birth. I see no reason for the baby to be injected with artificial anything.

Its mostly recommended for boys because it helps a lot during circumcisions but ultimately it helps the blood clot so why not its helping little babes just in case and lets face it theyll be getting poked a lot once theyre here so its probably not a bad idea

I have never heard it referred to as special K...now I want cereal 😩

Every baby is born with low vitamin K levels,  I personally believe that there may be some natural reasoning behind it.   The vitamin k shot contains something like 5,000 or 10,000 the recommended daily dose of vitamin k for a newborn.   I also think it's cruel to inject something into a baby soo soon after being born,  they have barely been in the world,  they are already having a sensory overload and to be given an injection just doesn't feel right.   If it's something you're concerned about they do offer an oral dose of vitamin K,  but you have to specifically ask for it,  and some hospitals don't even carry it. I asked for my youngest and the nurse told me no they didn't have the oral dose so I told her no,  he won't be getting the injection.
