Breast feeding is not for the kind of heart
My son is 16 days old.. since day 1 he's had latching issues. I had 6 lactation consultants visit me at the hospital and I saw one at my son's last Dr's appointment. I had to supplement during week one because he lost 10 ounces because he wasn't getting enough milk just strictly breastfeeding... I have to use a nipple shield to get him to latch but even now I can only pump an ounce at a time.. my son after nursing for an hour is still hungry.. so I end up feeding him formula after because he gets so upset...
I have tried many things to try to get more of a milk supply...
Lactation cookies with oats and brewers yeast... pineapple juice.. a blue moon... lots of water... hot showers...
Nothing seems to be working...
Anyone have any other tips or tricks that worked for them... I hate feeding my son formula and want to just feed him breastmilk..
