induced

My little one is 6 weeks old now, so I have slightly more time to actually write this :) I was induced at 38 weeks due to Bub not putting on much weight from 32 weeks. I was lucky enough to be dilated 2.5cm so I didn't need to go into hospital the night before and get the gel or balloon. I went in at 7am, Dr broke my water by 8:15. I walked around for about 1.5 hours, had very slight contractions but nothing much at all. So at 10:00 they started the hormone for the contractions. At first I had nothing, then very irregular contractions, they varied in pain and time and position. Then at 12 they checked and I was 3.5cm :( so I got on the fit ball and did my best to make that increase. At around 1:30 I started to have to breathe through the contractions, closing my eyes and thinking about relaxing my face and mouth, it really works for those early contractions. Then around 3pm they started to get more intense, they checked and I was only 5cm! Refused the gas as I didn't want any until I was atleast 6-7cm. By 3:15, things got really going. I started to struggle to breathe through the contractions and asked for the gas. Then at 3:50 I could feel myself starting to push, they checked again and I was at 10cm! In less than an hour 5cm-10cm 😱by 4:08pm my little guy was born. When I was crowing he tried to put his hand through too, Dr had to push it back up. Let me tell you, labour is pretty painful but it didn't even come close to the pain of someone putting their hand up there whilst it is already stretched beyond reality 😥 I was completely lucky to have no tear and didn't need an episiotomy, and had as pretty much natural labour as you can with induction (besides the gas).
