He's got and cold

So I've been dating this guy for a few months now he's real sweet and a gentleman. Of course we've had sex. He's always doing these nice things for me. Unfortunately he's been hurt in the past aswell which is why I feel he blows hot and cold.

One day we're talking all good and then he's not really talking anymore and then again. I don't really force anything with him either lol icba. He did mention twice he wants a relationship with me but scared to fall in love again

Everything we've had has been so messed up since the day we met from both sides. We have bad communication too which is a major issue.

Anyways why is he being like this?
