This is actually exactly me. 
Me and my boyfriend had been wanting have sex so bad but for some reason I was so scared. I didn't know what exactly I was afraid of, that's just how I felt. A few days ago I had him sleep over and we talked about how I was feeling. He assured me that there was nothing to be scared of and he would take care of me. We ended up doing it and I was still pretty nervous but he made me feel very safe. 
All in all, its you decision and you're allowed to take as much time as you need to overcome your fear. Maybe try talking to him about it, and try getting through it together.

I think its perfectly normal and natural to be scared to have sex, especially for the first time because you've never had that kind of human contact.  Just as long as its with someone you are perfectly comfortable with its nice to try new things.
