White spots don't necessarily mean a bacterial infection or strep. Of course, it could mean that. However, viral infections (which antibiotics won't help) can cause white spots. Viral infection should resolve in 3-10 days. Due to your recent history of other infections, your immune system is probably in a slightly weakened state. I would make an appointment with your doctor just to rule out any issues that may need antibiotics. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

I get tonsilitis about 3 times a year. In fact, I just spent the last 6 days healing from it. My tonsils usually get that white stuff. I've seen many doctors and strep and mono has always come back negative. They never prescribed me anything for it. It looks like it's just some bacteria, pick it off with a q tip.

My throat doesnt hurt very much, I had a strep test in august when it did and it was negative. They gave me antibiotics for the reason it was hurting which was a bad sinus infection and tonsilitis, I felt better for about 3 days after the antibiotics and then got a horrible cough that I had for a week, even made me throw up once. They gave me an inhaler and now it's 8 days after getting the inhaler and I'm still coughing quite often and this.

Go see your DR ASAP as anytime white spots show you have a serious infection which can so rad elsewhere.  Take care of it now before it gets too bad (from someone who has chronic strep/tonsillitis).
