can I get hpv if me and my bf are eachothers first?

I've been thinking about getting the hpv vaccination and I know it sounds silly but I know that if everything keeps going the way it's going me and boyfriend of almost 3 years will eventually get married. We are both eachothers firsts for everything. But I was wondering if it's possible for me to get hpv even though neither of us have hpv and we only have sex with eachother?

Is it possible to get hpv when you are in a mongomous relationship with both people being eachothers first?

You should get the vaccine no matter what!  Just think of it like any other disease, like the measles or mumps:  it's possible to get it out there in the world, and there is a vaccine, so protect yourself!  Even if your bf and you stay together and never stray (wishing you the best obviously!) there are other horrible things that could happen, like sexual assault, in which you could be infected.  Be safe and get vaccinated!

Well, yes and no. If the HPV you're thinking of is the STD strain, no. But if it's the kind that causes common warts, you can get it anywhere. You may have been vaccinated already as a child. I was and didn't know until my teens. Just ask your mum if you've been vaccinated

Also, is hpv only transferrable through sexual encounters?

Not sure how you know he doesn't have it if they can't screen males for it...theres so many different strains it can be possible to get it another way..the vaccination is for the more serious strains that can lead to cancer, it doesn't protect against every type there is. And anything can happen in the future, even if you get married you could get divorced or change your mind about eachother. If you can get the vaccine I'd recommend it.
