First Time Birth Control User

So I started using hormonal birth control for the first time this past Sunday and it's now Thursday and for the past two days I've had a sort of constant cramping down in my stomach area. My doctor told me to start it the Sunday after my period started even if I was still bleeding so I did. Should I be worried or is this just my body adjusting to something new?
