My October baby is now a September baby 34 wk birth story.

Okay so to start off the whole pregnancy all the way up until 34 weeks I had never felt any contractions. Then all of the sudden on Wednesday I stated to feel a non painful period like cramp that was timable. I didn't think I was going into labor but I did think it was kind of Wierd that it hadn't stopped for about two hour and they were consistently four minutes apart so I went to the hospital at about five pm on Thursday. When I got there they checked me and I was 3 cm dialated 90%affaced. Right after my nurse checked me I started to bleed and the nurse said that it could be bloody show or it could just be from them checking my uterus. They didn't wanna induce me so they decided to not give me any meds and just check in on me in two hours to see if the labor would naturally stop itself( since I was only at 34 weeks) or progress . At this point the once dull period cramps started to hurt BAD. They came in again to check me and I was now 5 cm dialated and my contractions were bringing me to tears. They then decided to bring me up to labor and delivery where they checked me I was 7 cm dialated. Finally at that point I got the epidural!  I didn't feel the epidural effects for about another hour but then once I did feel it it was AMAZING all the pain I felt went away enough for me to sleep through the the night they came back to check on me around 4:30am on Saturday and I was ten cm dialated so the doctor decided to break my water . After 4 solid pushes my baby Liam Scott Burton came into the world at 4 pounds 11 oz . I only got to hold him for a couple seconds because then they had to take him to the nicu but this whole pregnancy I felt pretty indifferent but as soon as I held my baby in my arms everything changed . Child birth really is such an amazing thing . I walked out with two small tear but they weren't perineal so they didn't hurt as much but everything is worth it when you see your little ones face. It's a little hard going home and leaving him in the nicu but hopefully we will be taking him home soon (:
