nuvaring and periods

Ok i am going to try and make this as short as possible. I am sexually active, and I started Nuvaring in January of 2016 right off the bat, my periods were lighter. I had maybe one or two more regular ones, but since probably March, I have had a period about every two months and they are very light. However, I had my last period start two or three weeks ago and it was very light and lasted about 7 days. Well a week later I had some blood again but it was orange and not red or brown like usual. And I have been bleeding very lightly all week since... why?? Has anyone else had this happen too? I'm also concerned bc I think I might have some kind of infection. I itch and it smells funky down there all the time and I often have discharge. I also just think it might be bc of the weather bc it's summer and I sweat very badly. I'm planning on going to the doctor soon about all of this but I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I read online that sometimes the blood is orange bc it's mixed with infection? Any advice would be great!!
