baby's weight?

How do doctors estimate baby's weight. I had one last ultrasound at 28 weeks and they told me the weight but I don't think I will get more ultrasounds.

They take measurements of the baby's length, head circumference etc and make their best educated guess as to the baby's weight. I had a late ultrasound in my pregnancy to determine size since my belly was measuring 4-5 weeks ahead and the tech estimated she would weigh 7lbs 12oz. She was born at 8lbs 1oz. This was a good guess but sometimes they're way off.

You SHOULD have one more ultrasound closer to your due date for them to check weight.

Estimates really don't matter, they're almost always wrong. They could be off a lb either way.
