Work dilemma

I'm lucky in many ways. My mom watches my baby and I had pretty great leave benefits (for the US 😛). However, I also have the opportunity to work from home as an independent contractor. The only problem is it's not as good of a job - not as much security, no retirement, no benefits. I was hoping my current job would be more flexible and let me work from home more, but it's not looking that way. What should I do?! I miss my baby so much, but I need to work!
