What is wrong with my ear?

It's had been like this for almost a week but it started getting severely itchy and it feels dry. I can't shower because it starts to burn. I applied lotion and it's burning.. this is on both ears by the way... infection?

Thanks for the 'go to doctor' comment but not everyone can afford a doctor, not everyone has health insurance. I will eventually see one but I wanted to get on here to get an idea of what it could be.. 😾

If the inside of ear your hurts (earache) you do need medical attention. Infections of the ear can spread to the brain and become life threatening if left untreated.

Assuming you don't have an earache, then it looks like a rash. The simplest explanation is contact dermatitis. Have you started using any new soaps, perfumes, hair products, facial cleansers or lotions? Are you wearing new earrings or ones you haven't worn in awhile? Did you change laundry detergent or fabric softener?

Try some benadryl 3 or 4 times a day and hydrocortizone cream as indicated. I would avoid any other lotion like products until the ears have improved. Keep your hair away from your ears as well to help with healing and in case something in your hair caused an allergic reaction.

A home remedy I use to help stop itching is mixing 1/2 a cup of apple cider vinegar with 1/2 a cup cool water. Then I wet a wash cloth with the mixture and use it as a compress on the rash.

If you don't see improvement in a couple of days, you do need to see a doctor. Bad rashes very often require a course of prednisone to clear up and sometimes antibiotics if they get infected.

Start looking free clinics and see if you qualify for an affordable healthcare plan through the ACA (Obamacare) or see if you qualify for Medicaid (go to your states social services website to check if you qualify). I've been in your jam before, so I feel for you. Worst case scenario is to check with your local hospital and ask about financial aid or a payment plan to be seen by a doctor in the ER.

people are telling you that because no one here is a doctor.. we don't know what's wrong with your ear..go to a doctor and they will be able to tell you.. and get medicaid then if you can't afford insurance..it's free

Does it hurt inside your ear, my brothers looked alot like this and he had a staff infection inside of it

Go to a doctor. Find a free clinic or Planned Parenthood. If you can't afford health insurance there are federal programs to assist you. The US has Medicaid and if you're not in the US, I doubt we're the only ones with this kind of program. There are also non-profit organizations that offer assistance to people who need money for things like doctors visits. We can only guess what's going on, we're suggesting you see a doctor because we can't know for sure.

Clean tour ears out gently with soapy water on the outsides gently. With a soft rag or a q-tip but carefully. It looks like a build up of stuff
