At my hospital, it was a continuous line, so I could have gotten more as needed. It never would have ran out. I could have started it as early as it wanted. It was very comforting knowing this.

Nope for me! It only worked down the left side of my body 😩 but they also gave me a button to top myself up when I felt the pain was easing.

Yes. I got it at about 3 pm and birthed my baby at almost 9 pm. I was in inactive labor prior to 3...I had my water broken at noon and contractions without dilation since 12 midnight.

No. I had to get a 2nd epidural. It failed after about 2 hours. Waiting 4 more hours to see what we were going to do about it wasn't fun. It hurt to wait, so the 2nd one wasn't as scary as the first!

Yes but I wanted to feel a little during labor so I didn't push my button. Felt hardly anything though just some light pressure. Spine hurt a few months later...comes and goes still.
