Looks like a strawberry birth mark.. my daughter got one on her cookie about a week after birth and it got bigger, but then got smaller and went away in like 2 years. freaked me out.. but was harmless.

I had/have the same thing in the same spot. It looks like it's just a birth mark. Mine is still visible but has faded a lot over the years. Personally, I don't think it's anything to worry about

If you are concerned, schedule an appointment with the pediatrician. I wouldn't take a newborn to the ER, unless it were a true emergency. There are far too many germs, and things she could be exposed too.

Strawberry birth mark - my daughter had one come up the same way after birth. Got a bit bigger then had completely disappeared by the time she was 5 - as the doctors had told me. Her hair will cover it, it's a good place for one. I think they are special and unique :-)

You can mention it to your doctor to put you at ease, but I've seen this on several babies & even newborns. Not just on their head but anywhere on their body... it's a birthmark.

When my son was in the NICU he had one on his back and on humis ear an it worried me so I asked a nurse an she said its a strawberry sometimes they go away an turn into a birthmark. Nothing too worry about!
